Falconry has been referred to as the “sport of kings”, an art form, and a technique for hunting. One thing we know for sure is that falconry goes back to 2000 BC.
This class will give an in-depth look at the history of falconry, techniques used in training these magnificent birds, and some of the equipment used by falconers. Attendees will be able to meet a real Raptor up close and personal.
This class lasts about an hour.
The cost is $45.00 per person.

As the St. Patrick's Day 2023 celebrations approach, the town of Weaverville, North Carolina is gearing up for a fun-filled day of festivities. From live music to great food and drinks, there's something for everyone to enjoy.
The Weaver House is set to host an evening of live music by Smooth Goose from 5pm to 9:30pm, with no cover charge. Chef Joey Woll and Britt McKenzie will be serving up some delicious food specials throughout the evening, while the drinks will be flowing with specials all night long.
If you're looking for something to do earlier in the day, head on over to Eluvium, where you can enjoy $1 off their Dry Irish Stout and some delicious Irish food specials from 11:30am to 10pm.
For those who love vinyl, Leveller is the place to be, with Irish music on vinyl from 1pm to 8pm, and of course, their own Dry Irish Stout on tap.

Long’s Chapel will host Easter egg hunts for children ages 1-12 outside Stuart Auditorium on Saturday, April 8.
Long’s Chapel also will partner with Camp Ability to host an egg hunt for children ages 4 to 12 with special needs inside the Harrell Center. Check-in begins at 11:15 a.m. with the first egg hunt at 11:30 a.m. The event will take place after the Friends of the Lake 5K Road Race and Walk.
The egg hunt and 5K are part of Easter weekend events at Lake Junaluska. An outdoor Easter Sunrise Service will be held at the amphitheater below the Lake Junaluska Cross on Sunday, April 9, 2023. An Easter Breakfast Buffet will be served at historic Lambuth Inn, and an Easter Lunch Buffet will take place at The Terrace Hotel.
Guests who wish to spend the Easter weekend at Lake Junaluska are invited to book lodging at The Terrace Hotel or Lambuth Inn. To make reservations, you can book online or by phone. Asheville is where March Madness starts. March 2–6 in 2023 will see the return to Asheville of the Southern Conference Men's and Women's Basketball Championships. Some of the first tickets punched for the NCAA Men's and Women's Basketball Tournaments are produced by the SoCon Basketball Championships. The Citadel, East Tennessee State University, Furman University, Mercer University, UNC Greensboro, Samford University, University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, Virginia Military Institute, Western Carolina University, and Wofford College are among the institutions that make up the Southern Conference. Ten teams will compete in games for the Men's Championship from March 3–6. Eight teams will compete in games for the Women's Championship on March 2, 3, and 5.
